It's not like it's costing us anything (unless it is and in that case I understand). I still feel that it provides a sense of permanency. Slacks and discords come and go, but email has been reliable for decades. Also it's a convenient way to keep records of conversations since slack erases messages after a while. My accessibility-specific browser does not work well with the website, and the app is also not very accessible to me. That is why I am not on there much. I'm able to do the basics if I work at it, but it's very frustrating and ineffective. And Robby to that I say first of all it was just an opinion. I'm sure members can agree on whether or not the list needs to be shut down. Secondly you say we are"pissing away" money but you don't actually state any costs. I assumed that a mailing list is free or near free. If you are gonna make such statements you should probably be transparent about things like costs so members can make an informed decision whether to shut it down or to keep it. And third, I did not go MIA. I simply didn't have anything to add to discussions I saw happening. I am available if anyone wishes to speak to me. And I wasn't aware that I had to show up to monthly meetings especially when they coincide with my work. Regardless keeping or getting rid of the mailing list is not an issue worth all this arguing.
